Duck Pond at Virginia Tech - Blacksburg, VA Virginia

Description: The Duck Pond provides a peaceful resting spot for VT students and visitors- as well as for dozens of ducks and geese. The pond was created in 1937. A smaller pond, just north of the Duck Pond, is known as the Ice Pond, so called because it was the source of ice for cadets until a refrigeration plant opened in 1898. Fishing and picnicking are common activities.
