New River Falls - McCoy, Montgomery County, VA Virginia

Description: A hot spot for summer time fun, the New River Falls is home to the New River Junction, a place to rent tubes, picknic, cookout, camp etc. Bring friends & a cooler (no glass), drop your tubes in at the the top, float for about an hour until you get to the rapids, get picked up by bus & do it all over again. This part of the river is know for swimming, kayaking, fishing & sun bathing.

Basic Directions: From Blacksburg, head west on Prices Fork Rd. at the fork in Prices Fork turn right onto McCoy Rd. and follow it several miles to the very end where you will come to a stop. Turn right onto Big Falls Rd. Once you cross the railroad tracks you will see the New River Junction on your left. If you just want to go to the rocks and hang out proceed another mile or two and you will see them on your left. Off street parking is very limited in that area so get there early if you want to safely get a spot. If your vehicle hangs over onto the road, you will get a ticket.
