Description: This rope swing is located immediately after the big bend in the New River at Eggleston. Due to liablity to the land owner and ongoing or unverified maintenance issues its a questionable activity even if the swing is in place. Re-live your old Huck Fin / Tarzarn day memories (if you can get on it) and if not the river brings plenty of fun regardless.

Basic Directions: From Blacksburg, take 460 West into Giles County, past Newport and into Eggleston. Turn left onto 42 and go west about 3 miles or so. Before you cross the big bridge going over the river turn right onto Cliffview St. From there you're own your own, but find a parking spot and perhaps follow the RR tracks. Also there is a boad landing down there somewhere.
