Sinking Creek Covered Bridge - Newport, Giles County, VA Virginia
 
Description: Also know as Sinking Creek Covered Bridge or Clover Hollow Covered Bridge. This is a circa 1916, modified Howe trusses built over Sinking Creek, a 70-foot span currently maintained by Giles County, was left in place for the property owner when a new bridge was built in 1949. The bridge is open to the public so please visit and tread lightly.

Basic Directions: From Interstate 81, take U.S. 460 west past Christiansburg and Blacksburg. Go about 6 miles past north end of Business U.S. Rt. 460. Turn Right onto 42 (this is Newport). Proceed through Newport on 42 and within 1/2 mile look for Clover Hollow Rd on your left. Turn left onto that and go about 3/4 a mile. This scenic and historical bridge is on the right.
